The song Dexter was talking about was Coming for You, a iTunes and Google Play only single released on January 30th, 2015. In that same month, Dexter said that he wrote a "punk" song about "the government keeping you down", which has since lead to speculation that The Offspring will be returning to their original roots on the new album. In a May 2013 interview with Belarusian news site Tut.By, Noodles stated that The Offspring hope to be back in the studio recording their tenth album in 2014. It is rumored that the members of The Offspring or their management sent a cease and desist letter to the creator of the Facebook page in order to stop the people from spreading rumors about a new album.

In March of that year, however, the Facebook page was deleted.

In late January 2013, a Facebook page called "New Offspring album in 2014" was created for Offspring fans who did not want to wait another five or four years for another album. But now that Round Hill Music has boughten all rights to all of The Offspring's songs, it is a possibility that it will be released on that label. Later that month, Dexter and Noodles confirmed that The Offspring were no longer associated with Columbia, and have considered the possibility of releasing new material independently. Noodles described the track as 'kind of like a straight-forward OFFSPRING song.

Plans for the tenth Offspring album were announced in December 2012 by guitarist Noodles, who stated that they would begin work on the follow-up to Days Go By after they finish touring in support of that album. THE OFFSPRING debuted 'It Wont Get Better' live in concert in June 2018 and has been performing it ever since. The band started recording in September 2015. The band broke through with their third album Smash, which was a huge hit and reached the top 10 on the American billboard chart, which was unheard of for an independent label. Album Ten will be the tenth studio album released by The Offspring and the first after completing their six-album record contract with Columbia Records. The Offspring are one of the most successful Punk bands of the mid-to-late 90s, selling 32 million records world wide.
